More Tools
Before you start
- 1
Grab your headphones. Over-ear ones work best, but earbuds are fine too. Just make sure they fit properly.
- 2
Find somewhere quiet. Even a little background noise can mess with your results, so close the door if you can.
- 3
Turn your volume to about half. You can adjust it during the test if needed.
- 4
Tap an ear icon to play a tone. You will hear it in that ear only.
- 5
Slide the frequency bar to test different pitches — low rumbles to high squeaks.
- 6
Hit "Yes I hear it" or "No I don't" after each tone. Be honest with yourself here.
So what is this exactly?
This is basically a simplified version of the hearing test you would get at an audiologist's office. We play pure tones at different frequencies and you tell us whether you can hear them. It is not meant to replace a professional exam — think of it more like a check-in on your hearing health. If something seems off, that is your cue to book an appointment with a real hearing specialist.
What makes this test useful

Same pure tone approach that hearing clinics use worldwide. We just made it simpler.
Wide frequency range
Test from deep bass to high treble — the full range that matters for conversations and music.

Left and right get their own scores. You might be surprised which one is stronger.
